(11/7/2022) There is a medium pink and salmon hue to the NV Champagne Grand Cru Les Terres Roses Bouzy Extra Brut, which has the base vintage of 2018 and is 64% Chardonnay and the rest Pinot Noir. It is fragrant with juicy red fruit and floral perfume, including ripe strawberry, apricot, and marzipan. It is dry though fruit-forward, with ripe raspberry filling the palate, nectarine, and wet stone, a rounded mousse, and a clean finish. This is another verry charming and elegant wine from Pierre Paillard to drink over the next 10 or more years. Maturity: 2022 - 2032.

(3/9/2022) A serious, elegant rose Champagne with a creamy, toasty nose. It's full and voluptuous in the mouth, with rich buttery brioche characters. As the palate evolves, the wine's freshness comes through, sweeping in with lemon and grapefruit and underpinning that cherry and almond frangipane richness with tense power. A light hint of Battenberg cake emerges on the finish. With 11ha in the Bouzy terroir, well known for exceptional Pinot Noir, brothers Antoine and Quentin actually have a high proportion of Chardonnay vines for this area, and this wine unusually is majority Chardonnay (65%), with the remaining Pinot Noir, 5% of which is red wine. They put a lot of focus into the health of their soils, and they farm organically. Drinking Window: 2022 - 2028.
