What We Think
Vin Chicago: 90+ Points
(3/2025) The label for the Tenuta di Valgiano "Mazzapink" Toscana Rosso 2023 shows a town square flowing endlessly with wine, and when we tasted this bottle, we didn't want it to stop flowing either. This blend of Sangiovese and Merlot has well-integrated, soft tannins that give structure to a lusciously red fruit-laden body. With rich raspberry and red currant flavors emanating from the glass, "Mazzapink" kept inviting us back for more, and kept delivering on being exceptionally tasty! Medium-bodied and effortlessly juicy, this is a wine we can envision going with almost any dish, but are particularly excited about popping it open alongside some sausage and onion pizza or mozzarella sticks!
What Critics Think

(3/18/2025) A project Tenuta Di Valgiano produces with their neighbor, the 2023 Mazzapink comes from calcareous soils and is 95% Sangiovese with a splash of Merlot. It has a youthful magenta hue and is fresh with aromas of wet stone, fresh plum, mixed berries, and fresh Mediterranean herbs. Medium to full-bodied, it offers refreshing acidity, plush, ripe tannins, and a clean, chalky texture. It is a very approachable style (reminiscent of Barbera in its application). Raised in stainless steel and concrete, this is a versatile red to enjoy over the next several years. Drink 2025-2032.
