(8/2/2022) Ripe dark-fruit character with hints of walnuts, cedar wood and spices. Some leafiness to it. Medium-to full-bodied with plenty of firm, creamy tannins and a deep core of ripe and crunchy dark fruit. Velvety and lingering, with a firm, spicy finish. Cabernet sauvignon. Try now, but better after 2023.

(12/2022) The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Palazzotto is spicy in the glass, as cedar and ground ginger shavings give way to dusty rose and red currants. This is elegant yet finessed, with creamy textures lifted by brisk acidity as a wave of mineral-tinged wild berries washes easily across the palate. The 2018 leaves a sour twang of citrus and raspberry and subtle grippy tannins that frame the wine without slowing its momentum. While already showing quite well, this beautifully balanced rendition of Palazzotto should excel through medium-term cellaring. Drinking Window: 2023 - 2030.
