If it's been a while since you tried an Australian Cabernet - or if you've never had one from their unique Clare Valley region - then you really need to give this bottling from Kilikanoon a shot. What Critics Think
Wine Enthusiast : 92 Points
(3/1/2023) Clare Valley's unique climate produces its own breed of Cabernet, and this is an excellent, affordable example of the style. Highly perfumed, with heady notes of savory herbs and spices (think mint, ground pepper and oregano), there's luscious-yet-fresh blueberry and plum fruit, chocolate, violets and a little tomato stem. There's power to the palate but a constant lift of cool climate acidity, wound tightly with spicy, talc-like tannins, with length and balance. Drink now with grill fare, until around 2027. Best Buy.
Wine Spectator : 90 Points
(3/31/2022) Features rich dark chocolate, raspberry, plum and spice notes that are deep and complex on a velvety frame, with hints of chai tea, fresh cracked black pepper and fresh herbs. Drink now through 2039. 300 cases imported.
James Suckling : 91 Points
(11/4/2021) This has fresh and approachable red-plum, redcurrant and cassis aromas and flavors. Medium body with fine, smooth tannins. Drink now. Screw cap.
