(6/7/2024) An intense and complete wine with a mountainous feel, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Del Rio was raised in 100% new French oak and is entirely composed of Cabernet Sauvignon. In the glass, it pours a dark purple hue and shows off a brooding profile, with a classic cologne of leather, cigar box, plum compote, savory herbs, graphite, and dried flowers. Full-bodied, it’s commanding in its structure, with ripe tannins that take on a more noble texture, a long finish, and fresh red fruit coming through on the back palate. It demands time in the cellar and is going to need another 5 or more years. Drink 2027-2057.
