(7/22/2021) The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Impassable Mountain is also brilliant, and while a monster of a wine as well, it brings slightly more elegance and purity. Black cherries, blackberries, currants, tobacco, chalky minerality, tobacco, and lead pencil notes all emerge from the glass, and it's full-bodied, with plenty of chocolatey oak, notable freshness, and a great, great finish. It's certainly not for those seeking Bordeaux-like delicacy or lightweight aromas and flavors, but it brings a Napa-like sense of opulence and decadence. Give it 3-4 years and enjoy over the following two decades. Maturity: 2024 - 2045.
