(8/2023) The 2021 Glouglou from Caroline Meurée and Hervé Malinge has blossomed nicely with a year in bottle and offer sup a complex nose of black cherries, dark berries, tree bark, cigar smoke and a lovely base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, nicely balanced and quite open in personality, with a lovely core of fruit, still a bit of backend tannin and fine focus and grip on the long and complex finish. This is a very good bottle of Saumur-Champigny that is drinking well today, but has the underlying structure to also age quite nicely for at least the next ten to twelve years. Drink between 2023-2035.
