(7/29/2022) A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the Chiappini 2019 Bolgheri Superiore Guado de' Gemoli shows beautifully now but promises more good things in five to 10 years. The wine reveals an inky garnet color with thick aromas of dark fruit, plum, road tar and spice. Those smoky tarry notes fit into the wine's thick texture and its firm structure. This Tuscan red matures in barrique for 20 months. You might notice a few tweaks to the label design in this production of 12,000 bottles. Drinking window: 2024 - 2035.
