(3/2025) This is an exceptional wine from Gaëlle and Florian Richter of Domaine des Deux Clés in Corbières in southwest France, just a few miles from the Mediterranean Sea. Our tasting group inhaled the glass deeply and immediately knew we were in for something special. A blend of 65% Macabeu, 15% Grenache Blanc, 10% Grenache Gris, and 10% Rolle (Vermentino), the wine is aged eight months in 228L French Oak barrels with 12% of the wine in new oak. Just that light touch of new oak plus a hint of reduction adds terrific texture to the wine. This stunner gives notes of almond, orange blossom, lemon verbena, peach, white flowers, and a trace of toast.
