(10/2026) Fans of Bierzo from Raul Perez, take note! This outstanding red from Bierzo blends about 85% Mencia with Trousseau, Godello and Paolomino from organically farmed vines planted to granite, quartz and slate soils. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for one year in large foudre. Showcasing incredible aromatics, look for dark red fruits, deep earth, and a sprinkling of pepper and spices. if you like Cru Beaujolais, check this one out!
What Critics Think
Wine Advocate : 92+ Points
(10/8/2026) The red 2024 Unculín fermented with 30% full clusters in oak foudres, where it matured for one year in search of more complexity and nuance. It comes from a typical field blend with a majority of red varieties—Mencía with some Alicante Bouschet and Merenzao—and 15% whites. It's expressive and creamy, with notes of ripe berries and aromatic herbs. It is sleek, polished and easy to drink, with fine-grained tannins. It has good ripeness, 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.77 and 5.3 grams of acidity. It's medium-bodied and has a commercial, approachable profile. 40,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2026. Drink Date: 2026 - 2032.
