Vin Chicago: 90 Points

(3/2025) This tasty sparkling red from Northern Italy is an excellent introduction to native grapes Negrara, Pavana, Turca, and Rosara. The wine is raised in stainless steel before 60 months of barrel aging, after which the wine is racked and undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle before resting for another 4 months. We didn't get too philosophical about this crushable sparkler - the bottle was gone quickly. The wine gives notes of cherry, strawberry, cola, and mountain herbs popped from the glass with a flinty mineral backbone.
