What We Think
Vin Chicago: 91 Points
(5/2026) The great Brunello producer Argiano bottles a smartly priced Super Tuscan called 'Non-Confunditor' (non-conformist), and with the 2023 release, they give us the friendliest, yummiest version of 'NC' we recall ever tasting. Purple ruby, medium-plus opaque in the glass, aromas of dusty, juicy dark red fruits and old-world minerality. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese drinks like Bordeaux meets Tuscany, giving gravel, hints of green, spicy blackberry, dried red berries, cocoa and grippy tannins, finishing with weight, lift and food-friendly freshness.
What Critics Think
Wine Enthusiast : 94 Points
(12/31/2025) The nose invigorates with aromas of tea leaf, tart blackberry, Mission fig, blood orange and tobacco, while on the palate, plums accentuate the fig element even as the overall feel is one of tangy earthiness. Sturdy tannins hold their own against abundant acid.
James Suckling : 93 Points
(8/20/2025) A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and sangiovese, his wine has aromas of blackberries, violets, graphite and oak. The palate is compact, with chewy tannins and flavors of black cherries and licorice. Medium- to full-bodied. Sustainable. A well-made wine that has longevity. Drink or hold.
