(6/2025) Bloodroot is a second label created by Noah Dorrance of Reeve Wines which offers fantastic value for some seriously good California wine. The Undertow became a bit of a staff favorite last year after Noah visited us for an event, and this new vintage only strengthens our fondness. This blend comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Grenache and Mourvedre leads to an intriguing wine where California meets France's famous regions of Bordeaux and the Southern Rhone Valley. The fruit is allowed to shine and deliver blackcurrant, black cherry, plum, spice, and clove, along with hints of brighter red fruits that provide a refreshing mouthfeel without the weight of overripe fruit or new oak.
