(2/17/2022) The Cerbaia 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is silky and polished. There are small berry nuances on the bouquet with background notes of spice, tar and dried rose. These fragrant layers are delicate, light and softly intermingled. There is more power in terms of mouthfeel; however, and both the tannic impact of the wine and its freshness leave a lasting mark. That hot 2017 vintage punch definitely comes through at the end, so I recommend giving this bottle ample time to age and soften. Production is 10,000 bottles. Drink Date: 2025 - 2038.

A firm and chewy wine with cherry and sandalwood character as well as hints of praline. It’s full-bodied and solid with attractive tannins that give the wine form and tension. Try after 2023.
