What We Think
Vin Chicago: 90 Points
(12/2025) We've adored the Kermit Lynch imported reds from Domaine de Fontsainte, but have only worked with their entry tier bottling. Located in Corbières, one of Languedoc's most regarded appellations, vigneron Bruno Laboucarié can trace his family's history here back to the 17th century, though vines were originally planted on these rolling hills by the Romans over 2000 years ago. Bruno's 'Réserve La Demoiselle' comes from a single 5 hectare site that features red rock limestone soil and 100-year old Carignan! This final blend is 60% Carignan, 30% Grenache Noir and 10% Mourvèdre, and pouring a glass is like traveling back to antiquity - the family actually found a coin dating from the time of Marcus Agrippa in 25 A.D. in this vineyard! Drinking like a savory, rustic Côtes du Rhône, with dark berries, olive, smoke and dusty red earth, this wine is soulful and hearty, ready for a pot roast or cassoulet. At our blow-out price, it is a steal!
