(1/30/2025) The Elvio Cogno 2022 Barbera d'Alba Bricco dei Merli was born in a hot vintage, and that fact does not go unnoticed. The aromas are a bit cooked, with blackberry preserves and a touch of black olive. There is scorched earth, baked clay and dried plum. It ferments in stainless steel and then sees 12 months in large oak casks. This Barbera offers a medium-rich mouthfeel. Drink Date: 2024 - 2028.
