(5/2026) The Fableist wine team, led by Sans Liege owner/winemaker Curt Schalchlin. Based in Paso Robles, Curt crafts smartly priced whites and reds at Fableist, each linked to a story, or fable, from ancient Greek storyteller Aesop. Curt makes this wine from four different Central Coast Tempranillo vineyards, and raises the juice in new and use American oak. Thanks to some wareshouse-clearing, we've got this wine at 50% off its regular price! Pour a glass and you'll find a purple/ruby color, layered flavors of black cherry, blueberry, wood grain, roast coffee and fresh turned earth, finishing on a full mouthfeel that is fresh and slightly grippy. Serve with shortribs or grilled lamb!
