Vin Chicago: 85 Points

(11/2026) This is a raucous young tawny, retaining plenty of its origin color in the glass. However, its profile is dominated by its wood aging, with rancio notes reminscent of Vin Santo and Madeira peeking in. Wood tannin offers a bitter grip on the close to counteract its considerable sweetness. Very little red fruit seeps through, it offers maple-glazed dates, prune, clove, pralines, brandy-soaked red apple peel and pepper. At our price? This is definitely a lot of wine for the money, measured by amplitude.
