What Critics Think
Vinous : 91 Points
(10/2024) The 2021 Pinot Noir Las Nietas Vineyard is slight, bright and perfumed with an array of flowers-really quite a pretty bouquet. Rooibos tea, violet, peony, rose, spiced cranberry and hints of leather coast through this soft- spoken, curvy Pinot. Gently textured and a touch ethereal, this is a lovely, well-integrated wine on the lighter, more finessed side of things. It turns up the volume with air, so give this an hour or two in the decanter. Drinking Window: 2024 - 2032.
Wine Enthusiast : 93 Points
(9/1/2024) A light hue in the glass, this bottling pops on the nose with crisp pomegranate and strawberry aromas that are cut by mace and other peppery spices. The palate is fresh with acidity, pairing pomegranate, lemon zest and blood orange peel with peppercorn and thyme flavors.
Wine Advocate : 91 Points
(4/18/2024) The 2021 Pinot Noir Las Nietas Vineyard is sourced from vines planted in 2008 in Corralitos. The nose is a rustic combination of blood orange, grapefruit, potpourri and cinnamon, which takes time to fill out its initially angular shape. The palate is light-bodied and silky, and the finish, while not unbalanced, is a bit austere before an hour or so of aeration. This decidedly old-school style needs time to soften and congeal but is charming nonetheless. Drink Date: 2025 - 2030.
