(10/2024) From Rasteau, a cru village of the Southern Rhone on the level of Gigondas or Vacqueyras, this blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Carignan, and 10% Mourvedre is striking in its purity, elegance, and complexity. The price is remarkable given the care that goes into it: hand harvesting, hand sorting, aging for 20 months in large old oak barrels and concrete, plus extended bottle aging before release. The tannins are soft, with the nose showing some wonderful aged notes along with fresh red berries, forest floor, spicebox and cocoa.
