What We Think
Vin Chicago: 94 Points
(10/2022) Produced from Pinot Noir vines planted in 1952, its fruit raised in barrel, one-third of which were new. Initial notes of wood spice and muted red fruits quickly expands with aeration to a darker, more concentrated profile giving delicious red cherry, black cherry and cassis fruit notes. Secondary flavors of dusty earth, wet leaves, baking spice, white cocoa, bergamot, dried flowers and black tea are framed by an ideal structure. A rare combination of full flavors and brisk acidity is what makes the 2019 vintage in Burgundy so incredibly good. Ideally to rest for at least another 2 to 3 years before drinking and will deliver pleasure for 10 to 15 years beyond that.
