(7/31/2023) There is a big change in the wines since 2018 because of the work they started doing in Vivaltus that permeated the rest of the projects, including the 2019 Pepe Yllera, from a warm and dry year. It is less ripe and with a lot less oak (they started using Flextank eggs and 500-liter oak barrels and harvesting earlier—two to three weeks before they used to), which kept the wine to 14% alcohol and good freshness. It's medium-bodied and has very fine tannins. It has a small percentage of Cabernet and Merlot (around 12%). It's a great improvement and a bargain. Drink Date: 2023 - 2028.
