(4/2025) The NV (2023) Brut L'Esquisse is a powerful, driving wine. Dried pear, herbs, chamomile and crushed flowers lend a distinctly savory character. I especially admire the wine's energy and tension, both of which make it a fabulous choice for the dinner table. L'Esquisse is 76% Meunier and 24% Pinot Noir from Cuisles, Jonquery and Châtillon-sur-Marne, based on 2023 with 15% reserve wines. Dosage is 1.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: February 6, 2025. Drinking Window: 2025 - 2032.

(11/2/2026) Made entirely from Chardonnay, the NV Champagne Blanc De Blancs L'Esquisse pours a bright, lightly green-tinged hue. Meyer lemon, savory sea spray, mint, iodine, white peach, and white pineapple emerge from the glass. Medium-bodied, it has a rounder palate, with a pillowy, notably refined mousse that takes the wine up a notch in quality. An elegant creaminess is balanced by a salty, refreshing lift on the finish. A lovely Blanc de Blancs from the area to drink over the coming decade or more. It was bottled with 1.5 grams per liter dosage. Drink 2026-2038.
