Tepeztate is a rare marmorata agave which grows best on steep rocky cliffs and takes about 17-25 years to mature. Rich in spicy, peppery flavors these low-yielding mezcals are earthy and wild. Here, father and daughter master mezcalero command the 4th and 5th generation outfit, with an intention to grow their community and decrease emigration.
