(7/2024) The 2022 Ad Astra, Nittardi's Maremma wine, is terrific. It offers up copious blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, menthol, licorice and chocolate. Pretty floral notes reappear on the finish to add brightness. This sumptuous Sangiovese/Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc blend will drink well on release. Drinking Window: 2024 - 2032.

(7/25/2024) Rich, red- and dark-fruited character with notes of spiced cedar, dried citrus peel and walnuts. Medium- to full-bodied, racy and tense, with firm, tight tannins that have a fine texture but need a little more time to integrate better. Shows good energy and is nicely filled with fruit. Spiced and cedary at the end, but with a lot of freshness. Better after 2026.
