What Critics Think
Vinous - Eric Guido : 93 Points
(1/2024) The 2021 Pinot Noir Heredity slowly comes together in the glass as a perfumed blend of dusty florals and exotic spices gives way to dried black cherries. This is silky and sleek with cooling acidity and masses of ripe red and blue fruits enlivened by a core of vibrant acidity. It impresses further through the finish, long yet energetic with framing tannins, repleting florals and hints of sour citrus tugging at the cheeks. The Heredity pushes the pleasure meters to the max. Drinking Window: 2025 - 2031.

(9/17/2023) From a blend of high elevation sites aged in all neutral oak, the medium ruby 2021 Pinot Noir Heredity takes on a spicy and floral personality, with notes of dusty earth, grenadine, white pepper, and fresh herbs. Medium-bodied, with great persistence of concentration within its linear frame, it has ripe fruit through the palate, fine tannins, and a silky mouthfeel. This is a beautiful and graceful wine to drink over the next 6-8 years.

(9/1/2023) Aged in French oak barrels, none of which were new, for 11 months, the Heredity combines chewy tannins with brisk acidity. Earthy/brambly black fruit aromas meld beautifully with notes of beeswax and lavender-filed garrigue. The rich palate shows flavors of blackberry pie, tangerine and mint.
