What We Think
Vin Chicago: 91 Points
(5/2022) This shapeshifting non-vintage red (and likely white) blend is so good, we're not going to worry about what the grapes are - and Thackrey isn't telling us in any case! The lively result is a wine that feels lighter than it is, through clearly significant whole cluster inclusions. Its light color in the glass belies its big aromas and bold palate. Tart candied red fruit including cherry, strawberry and cranberry mingles alongside hillside brush, spice, sage and lots of floral notes before citrusy acidity plays out a long snappy finish with fine tannin veined through. It's an honest, exciting Cali red that bridges the gap from Pinot to Zin with a magic dust dash of Rhone vibes. All we know is, it's great!
