(5/2024) With a PhD in Fluid Mechanics, vigneron Anne Arbeau was planning to work for Renault in Paris when a turn of events at her father's winery brought her back home to the South of France. Located in the southwest appellation of Fronton, Anne bottles juicy reds, and under a Vin de France designation, this delicious and authentic Viognier. Packing lively energy and a range of citrus/orchard and classic stone fruits, this Viognier drinks like something you'd find in the Northern Rhone, in the $25-ish range. Clean and pure, with very little fat, this shows orange oil, lemon balm, white flowers, and a hint of licorice. Try with crabcakes or fried fish.
