(3/29/2023) I loved the 2020 Château Maillet, a richer, concentrated, focused Pomerol with terrific density and depth. Black cherries, smoked darker currants, chocolate, and leafy tobacco are just some of its nuances, and it's medium to full-bodied, with plenty of background oak and a great finish. It’s brilliant juice, but it needs at least 4-6 years of bottle age. Maturity: 2027 - 2042.

(2/17/2023) This has a perfumed nose of sandalwood, lavender, blackcurrants, cassis, star anise and black olives. Full-bodied, velvety and creamy, with bright acidity to complement the ripe layers of black and blue fruit. Seamless tannins. Try after 2025.
