(5/2024) Yannick Paquet crafts this brilliant wine from his family's tiny one-third-hectare plot in the Vers Cras Vineyard, one of the best sites in Macon. With an unctuous and seductive mouthfeel, this youthful and pure expression of Chardonnay expresses beautifully high-pitched chalk notes and white rock minerals. It is densely packed, distinctive, and complete, with crisp red apple, Meyer lemon, orange creme, white peach, vanilla, creme brulee, and allspice flavors acting as punctuations. It is a steal compared to the best white Burgundies from further north.
