(10/2025) A traditional blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre, this old-vine 2023 Châteauneuf is very accessible on the nose and in the mouth, giving black pepper, red rock earth, exotic baking spice, subtle savory wild game and roasted herb notes. Full in body with soft tannins and a bright structure, this red lingers for quite a while, with black cherry and pomegranate fruit and dusty red minerality coating the mouth. While it's entirely enjoyable by itself, it would be a shame not to have grilled meat on a nearby plate, maybe even Provence-style lamb! If you're able to resist drinking it all now, try to stash a few bottles away for a couple of years. An excellent price for a legit and family-owned Châteauneuf!
