(9/2023) This 817 case production white will be major a turn-on for folks who typically lean more towards Old World styles of Sauvignon Blanc. Cuttings from 1882 Livermore Valley plantings - which were long ago sourced directly from Chateau d'Yquem - were planted in the Dairy Vineyard of Los Olivos District, the source of this lovely white. Fermented and aged in neutral French oak barrels, it delivers a discrete, gracious, balanced profile marked by lily, pineapple, pithy lemon, river pebbles and lemongrass - all clinging on tenaciously with the leesy waxiness of papaya essence. It's a lip-smacking, gastronomic wine that White Bordeaux or Sancerre fans should definitely tune into. This is Santa Barbara savvy at its finest!
