(5/2024) In its first year, the 2023 Vouvray Silex Noir is a little closed; that's often the case with wines made from vines grown on flint. Delightfully juicy and charming on the mid-palate, a touch of smokiness meets primary fruit flavors akin to pineapple to pear. While it has 17 g/l residual sugar, natural acidity tidies this wine up...It might not be the most fashionable style, but it's absolutely delicious with an appetizing tanginess. Leave it another year and it'll be showing even better. Drinking Window: 2025 - 2033.
