What We Think
Vin Chicago: empty Points
We've long held old vine Aligote from Meursault in high regard. From a parcel planted in the 1950's in the Sous le Chemin lieu-dit comes a very special 1500 bottle production from 'golden Aligote' vines. The wine spends 12 months in barriques 20% of which are new (that's one of the five barrels) and further settles out in stainless steel for 5 months before bottling without fining or filtration. This bottling will only be produced in particularly strong vintages when 13% ABV and less than 3.10pH is achievable without acidification or chaptalization. The level of this wine is more reminiscent of Meursault than most wine lover's experience with humble Aligote.
