(11/2023) This charming grower-produced Champagne from Etienne Doue and his daughter Virginie presents a veritable orchard in the glass, with flavors of Granny Smith apple, lemon fruit, underripe strawberry, apple blossom and red apple skin. A crushed chalk note is ever present, and an elegant glimmer of toastiness emerges as it warms up from refrigerator temperature. This is a seriously classy Champagne at a remarkably good price.
