What We Think
Vin Chicago: empty Points
(12/2023) Every year, we try to find a solid bottle of Champagne that we can sell you for a hot price. This year, it's the Robert de Pampignac. Young and fresh with a pale salmon hue reflective of its red fruit-dominated blend, this assemblage of 46% Pinot Noir, 37% Pinot Meunier and 17% Chardonnay is produced by the Rapeneau family of G.H. Martell, a 5th generation Champagne house. On the nose and in the mouth, it offers tasty Blanc de Noir-like flavors of raspberry, red flowers, citrus tea and sugar cookie. We enjoyed a bottle with a hunk of Gruyère cheese and found true bliss. It is the perfect bubbly to have chilled down and ready to go on a moment's notice.
