What We Think
Vin Chicago: 92+ Points
(5/2026) Ponce bottles this super exciting dry white from the local Abilla grape, and lovers of Chablis, Sancerre and Albariño will want to check this out. Lively and nervy, with layers of enticing flavors including white pepper, honey, and yellow orchard fruit. Long, impressive, and a steal!
What Critics Think
James Suckling : 95 Points
(9/10/2025) Zesty and minerally on the nose, with a punchy acidity and a lightly saline savoriness. Textured and mouthwatering, with medium to full body and a bone-dry, pithy finish. Very intellectual. Drink now or hold.

(1/9/2025) The grapes for the white 2023 Ponce Blanco had to be picked 10 days earlier to keep the minerality, the white fruit and floral aromas and to avoid excess ripeness and low acidity. It keeps the citrus and salty twist. Juan Antonio Ponce believes this is one of the vintages with more aging potential, together with 2013, 2016 and 2018. It has 12.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.1 and 6.4 grams of acidity. It feels more Atlantic than Mediterranean, very mineral, with notes of wet chalk, pollen, beeswax and dry flowers. It's tasty and serious, keeping the freshness like if it were a cooler year. 18,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in late March 2024. I also tasted a bottle of 2013, when it was called Reto, and it had developed notes of diesel and wax, keeping the mineral core but a little tired already. A 2015 was much fresher. Drink Date: 2025 - 2030.
