(3/2024) When you first pour this wine, it’s pretty straightforward and grapey. Give it a day, and the acidity pierces through the grape-skin tannins and opens up the flavors. It’s still a gentle red, but there’s complexity and gamey meatiness, and smiles in the finish—the forest earth and the salt of ocean air at altitude. Spiciness lasts in a gentle tug. Mostly Perli Vineyard syrah interplanted with a little grenache and viognier, this only gets more gracious and delicious with three days of air.
