Vin Chicago: 88 Points

(9/2026) This blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot, aged in French oak wouldn't be out of place in a lineup of Haut-Medoc. BUT, it's from the Valle de Guadalupe! Opening with zippy, cherry-berry fruit with air a spiced, salty plum element takes more charge as the wine darkens and keeps building gravity. Chalky-textured, honest and well-made for a strong price!
