What Critics Think
Wine Advocate : 95 Points
(1/31/2024) The 2021 Syrah York Mountain was matured entirely in new French oak for 18 months. It's alluringly meaty on the nose to begin and with several minutes in the glass, it unfurls aromas of cassis, blueberry, powdered sugar, licorice and coffee beans. The full-bodied palate is bursting with concentrated fruit. It has velvety tannins, rounded freshness and a long, floral finish. It will benefit from 3-5 years in the cellar. 463 cases produced. Drink 2025 - 2040.

(5/2023) The 2021 York Mountain is drop-dead gorgeous, with an intense burst of crushed raspberries, blackberries and dusty lavender complicated by exotic spice. This is profoundly textural and elegant. Gobs of ripe red and black fruits drench the palate, leaving a caking of chalky minerality in their wake. It finishes long and lightly structured with a savory flair, resonating on salted licorice and mulberry notes. This darkly radiant Syrah is built for the cellar. Drinking window: 2025 – 2035.
