Vin Chicago: 90+ Points
(10/2026) Italy's coastal hills of the Marche, hugging the Adriatic Sea, have recently become more known for white wines. We've again found one of their rare, robust red blends of popular grape varieties made famous from its neighboring regions. Abruzzo's Montepulciano (60%) and Tuscany's Sangiovese (40%) here hail from selected parcels of their single vineyard within Rosso Piceno known as Messieri. It delivers savory red cherry, wild blackberry, dark plum, wild herbs, dried autumn leaves, and tobacco. The palate is full-bodied, with more ripe, earthy red and black fruits, supple tannins, and a lingering finish. This hearty red is made for the table, don't miss out pairing with classics such as a gutsy ragù or lasagna!
