(10/2021) Sourced from the Mercer family's estate vineyards in Horse Heaven Hills, this tasty combination of 80% Cabernet and 20% Merlot was aged for 18 months in a combination of new and used French and American oak. Eighteen months of aging for a ten-buck Cabernet? Crazy! Displaying classic Washington State texture and flavors, this very tasty Cabernet is an out of this world value. Initially reserved layers of fruit, oak and earth will open up to reveal enticing dark fruit notes of blackberry and black cherry along with oak notes of vanilla and toast. With further aeration this yummy red becomes even more giving, with sweet plum and blueberry notes popping to the forefront. The tannins, acidity and alcohol are all in balance, and the wine finishes long with impressive complexity. Perfect for holiday parties, an unexpected guest and any-night-of-the-week enjoyment.
