(7/2023) The 2022 Syrah (Santa Barbara County) is superb. Rich, dark and expansive, the 2022 delivers the goods, big time. Dark cherry/plum fruit, spice, menthol, leather and earthy notes abound in a wine that has so much to offer. The county Syrah is pretty hard to beat, especially in its peer group. (3/1/2024) This is a very juicy, joyous and generous style of Syrah, offering ripe but not overly extracted blackberry, cassis and blueberry ice cream flavors. The palate is equally fun and flavorful, adding black cherry and root beer float flavors while retaining the tension and acidity to keep it professional.
