What We Think
Vin Chicago: 93 Points
(10/2025) This incredibly bold Right-Bank Bordeaux is the Saint-Emilion twin to Jacques Thienpont's legendary 'Le Pin' in Pomerol. The property is situated near Troplong Mondot and Valandraud. The 3 hectares of vineyard for this early-drinking, small-production wine from the property is comprised of 89% Merlot and 11% Cab Franc. Aged for 12 months in 50% new oak barrels, there's nothing demure about it. A bold, dark-toned personality with gobs of dark fruit, roasted soils, mint, coffee. Toasty, intense and feels très expensive, but compared to this estate's $235 grand vin (or $4,000 per bottle Le Pin), this is a comparative value!
