(7/2025) Far from your ordinary Montepulciano, the 'Inferi' Riserva from Marramiero is a dense, concentrated, and powerful wine that transcends the category of Abruzzo Rosso and will be an easy crossover for fans of big reds like Napa Cabernet, Central Coast red blends, or Spanish powerhouses like Clio. The Inferi spends 40 months at the winery before being released to market, aged first in stainless steel tanks before being transferred into new French oak barrique. Look for delicious ripe black cherry and blackberry compote layered with sweet baking spices of vanilla with a touch of clove. Enjoy this beauty with hearty pastas, grilled red meats, or hard cheeses.
