(12/2023) Famed importer Kermit Lynch bottles a small collection of wines with his name in large font on the front label in partnership with a select group of high-quality Southern Rhone vignerons. Kermit's 2021 Cotes du Rhone is made by Jean-Francois Pasturel at Terres d’Avignon, and it is delicious. The wine blends 48% Grenache, 39% Syrah, 6% Mourvedre, 5% Carignan, 1% Marselan and 1% Cinsault. The grapes come from the commune of Chateauneuf-de-Gadagne, a village eligible for the Cotes du Rhone-Villages AOC with alluvial soils of galets roules similar to those of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Dark red fruits, olives, roasted herbs and a mouthfilling drink give pleasure and authenticity.
