(9/17/2023) An orange wine, the 2022 L'Orange Skin Contact American White Wine pours a deep salmon color with a hint of copper and is a blend of eight grapes: Pinot Gris, Riesling, Roussanne, Chenin Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Aligote. Highly perfumed with wild tropical flowers, apricot, cardamom, and fresh basil, it’s medium-bodied, with a ripe structure and pure notes of golden orchard fruit that fill the palate. A very attractive wine, it’s on the clean side of the spectrum even though it has a hazy unfiltered appearance.
