(11/11/2022) All Grenache, the 2020 Chateauneuf Du Pape Santo has a gorgeous nose of wild strawberries, kirsch liqueur, rose petals, and spice. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, balanced, elegant 2020 (that’s the vintage) with silky tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. This is pure class and well worth seeking out. It’s going to evolve for a decade or more. This cuvee comes from the Combes Masques lieu-dit (mostly limestone soils) and was destemmed and aged all in concrete tanks. Maturity: 2022 - 2032.

(9/30/2021) Sappy acidity, a touch of greenness at the centre alongside subtle strawberry sucrosite. Quite a particular style, low extraction, low in tannin and very drinkable. Not unlike Rayas, stylistically, I would drink this young, as it's light, fresh and expressive. Pure Grenache grown mainly on limestone soils in lieu-dit Combes Masques, fermented and matured in concrete. Drinking Window: 2022 - 2026.

(5/22/2023) A fruity nose of cherries, raspberries, strawberries and hints of baking spices. Medium body with fine tannins. It’s velvety with a caressing texture and fresh acidity. Juicy and transparent with a succulent finish. Great drinkability as well. 100% grenache. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

(9/29/2023) The 100% Grenache 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape Santo is a bit light in hue, but it offers up copious cherry, mint and pine aromas. Picked on the early side (14% alcohol) from mainly limestone soils and fermented and aged in concrete, it's medium to full-bodied, supple, creamy, lush and easy to drink, with bright acids and a silky finish. Drink Date: 2022 - 2030.
