(12/8/2022) Loimer's 2021 Ried Loiserberg 1ÖTW Grüner Veltliner shows clear, bright and herbaceous yet ripe and elegant, terroir-conditioned rather cool fruit aromas on the nose. Dense and tightly meshed on the palate yet filigreed and very mineral, this is a medium-bodied but tense and hopeful Veltliner with dense, concentrated fruit, plenty of substance and fine tannins that combine with the crystalline, salty acidity. The 2021 Loiserberg GV is possibly the finest and most promising one I have tasted here in 20 years. At least, I never rated the wine that high in its early years. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork stopper. Tasted in Grafenegg in September 2022. Drink Date: 2027 - 2050. 94/100 - James Suckling. (11/17/2022) The forthright nose of fresh grapefruit leads you into the rather rich palate for this site. Sleek and very focused, with wonderful mineral austerity. Super wet-stone finish! From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification. Drink or hold.
