What Critics Think
James Suckling : 95 Points
(7/14/2021) Complex aromas of black plum, wild berries, dark chocolate, violets, pollen, tobacco, nutmeg and earth. It’s full-bodied with firm, tight-grained tannins. Concentrated, yet refined and balanced. Tight. From organically grown grapes. Better from 2023, but already impressive to taste.
Tim Atkin : 92 Points
(2021) Thibault Lepoutre uses around 30% of French Cot in this Los Chacayes Malbec, as it gives him 'suppler tannins.' It's still quite a firm, chewy, serious wine with dense blackberry and black olive flavours, some spicy wood, lots of concentration and refreshing acidity. 2023-2028.
